Position: Full-Time Preacher Location: First Christian Church, Pinckneyville, Illinois 

Housing: Provided - three bedroom, two full bathrooms with office area or potential fourth bedroom. Home on corner lot in good subdivision with fenced in back yard.

First Christian Church in Pinckneyville, Illinois is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the position of Full-Time Preacher. As the preacher, you will play a vital role in leading and shepherding the church community. This position requires a strong commitment to personal and spiritual growth, effective communication skills, and a heart for serving others.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, maintain, and progress in a personal devotional life with Jesus Christ, serving as an example to the congregation.
2. Foster a wholesome family life, ensuring adequate time and evenings each week are spent at home with the family. Actively involve the family in church activities, providing a positive model for the church community.
3. Engage in regular study of God's Word and relevant literature to enhance biblical knowledge and spiritual growth.
4. Create and document annual self-improvement goals, reviewing them with the elders prior to the annual performance evaluation.

Duties:

1. Actively participate in the educational ministry of the church, including Sunday School, mid-week Bible studies, and any other teaching opportunities to equip the saints for ministry and the building up of the body of Christ.
2. Collaborate with the elders to provide pastoral care for church members, such as personal calls, encouragement, visits, hospital visits, biblical counseling, and advice. Make appropriate referrals to professional counseling when necessary.
3. Engage in personal evangelistic outreach to the lost and support the church's evangelism/outreach ministry.
4. Attend all scheduled elder/deacon meetings to contribute to the church's decision-making processes.
5. Provide guidance, in collaboration with the elders, to all ministries of the church, ensuring alignment with the mission and vision of First Christian Church. Assume direct leadership of at least one ministry, as determined by the elders.
6. Serve as the primary leader and generator of ideas, working with others to provide ongoing leadership development and goal setting for elders, deacons, and the entire church body.
7. Maintain an approved regular office schedule and hours, subject to change when emergencies or unusual ministry situations arise. The day off each week will be approved by the Elders.

Qualifications:

1. A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through a vibrant devotional life and commitment to spiritual growth.
2. A commitment to maintaining a wholesome family life, balancing ministry responsibilities with family time.
3. A deep understanding of the Scriptures and the ability to effectively communicate biblical truths.
4. Prior experience in teaching and leading in a church setting.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide pastoral care and guidance.
6. A heart for evangelism and outreach, with a desire to see the lost come to faith in Jesus Christ.
7. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with church leadership and members.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
9. A willingness to be flexible and adaptable in response to ministry needs.
